With over 10 years of experience spanning database and website development, digital media marketing, m-commerce, mobile, marketing and content strategy development Barb is a bit of a self-defined geek. Always inquisitive about technology and what this new thing called the “interweb” was, she made a career change 15 years ago and hasn’t looked back since.
In a career that has spanned 2 continents (North America & Europe) while working for some powerhouse brands (EMI Music, VeriSign, Rogers Communications), Barb has gained a wealth of knowledge covering digital media production, content strategy, project management, marketing strategy development, product management and social media. Much of her career in these areas has been focused on marrying music (a longtime passion) with technology. She was involved with VeriSign as the primary mobile content delivery network provider for brands like MuchMusic, TELUS and Virgin Mobile. More recently, she joined Rogers to launch their primary music delivery product, urMusic, and was instrumental in increasing the profile and revenues for the service while working on the portfolio.
In her spare time, Barb enjoys staying on top of the music and tech scenes, getting fired up about politics on all levels, blogging, scooting around town on her 2009 Vespa and bootcamping to stay fit.
